About AB Septic

AB Septic provides professional septic replacement, pump repair, and leach field restoration. We offer NAWT-certified property inspections, advanced mechanical diagnostics, and custom on-site wastewater treatment installations engineered for Colorado soils.

Hi, I’m Austin Bitz, owner and operator of AB Septic. My career started 15 years ago pumping septic tanks alongside my dad, Steve Helvig. After 15 years of field diagnostics, I founded AB Septic to specialize in excavation, structural repairs, and fully engineered installations.

We coordinate our customers' routine septic tank pumping directly with my dad's operation, The Terd-inator LLC, while our crew handles advanced repairs, percolation issues, and county-compliant installations.

Septic System Troubleshooting & FAQ

Direct, certified answers to residential septic questions across Colorado.

Gurgling drains or plumbing backups can indicate either a clogged main sewer line or an overwhelmed septic tank that is forcing wastewater backward. If multiple fixtures back up simultaneously, it is almost certainly a septic system failure or overloaded tank. AB Septic recommends stopping water use immediately and calling 720-883-3390. Read our guide on emergency signs and sewage smells

Pooling water or a squishy, overly lush green patch above your leach field indicates that soil absorption has failed due to biomat buildup or lack of maintenance. AB Septic provides diagnostics and leach field restoration throughout Weld, Boulder, Jefferson, and Adams counties. Learn what squishy grass over your drain field means

Indoor sewer gas typically points to dry p-traps, clogged vents, or backed-up mains. Outdoors, rotten-egg odors indicate effluent rising to the surface or cracked distribution boxes. Contact AB Septic for thorough system diagnostics. Read the top 3 reasons your yard smells like sewage

A sounding septic alarm indicates a high-water emergency in the pump chamber. Stop high-volume water appliances immediately to prevent interior backups and contact AB Septic for mechanical pump troubleshooting. Step-by-step checklist: What to do when your alarm sounds

In many cases, yes. High-pressure jetting of lateral lines, distribution box leveling, and biological remediation can restore absorption if structural soil failure has not occurred. Contact AB Septic for an honest evaluation of your leach field restoration options.

Cost depends on household size, percolation test results, bedrock depth, and whether conventional gravity or engineered treatment is required. AB Septic provides itemized, transparent quotes. 4 signs it's time for a replacement | Septic vs. City Sewer comparison
